Scenic Walton Executive Director, Leigh Moore, was honored to introduce Commissioner Donna Johns at the January 19th, Florida Arbor Day event in Miramar Beach, Florida.
The addition of a special oak tree, courtesy of the Green Thumb Garden Club, was planted to honor Walton County District 4 Commissioner Donna Johns. Donna Johns, who represents the Miramar Beach area on the Walton County Board of Commissioners, was recognized for her close connection to the community. Attendees at the ceremony expressed their satisfaction with having a representative like Johns who lives alongside them, standing strong for their shared beliefs and needs.
Johns has been a steadfast advocate for environmental causes, aligning with the goals and values of Scenic Walton. This recognition reflects her commitment to championing initiatives that prioritize the well-being of the environment and the community.
“Every time I’ve come to Commissioner Johns about any initiatives that we’re working on that involve landscaping and tree preservation and planting, she’s been tremendously supportive,” Scenic Walton Executive Director Leigh Moore added. “And there’s more to come.”
Scenic Walton was formed in 2008 by a dedicated group of business owners and residents. Scenic Walton is a 501c(3) non-profit that works with the community and elected officials to preserve the natural beauty of Walton County, while also increasing pedestrian and cyclist safety.
