Scenic America is rehashing its partnership with BMW North America for another campaign to reforest fire-damaged woodlands and promote electric vehicles (EVs). In celebration of Earth Day, BMW will donate 25 trees to Scenic America’s reforestation efforts for every EV test drive taken at participating BMW Centers throughout the month of April.
This is the third Trees for Test Drives tree-planting campaign between Scenic America and BMW North America. The first two, which occurred in the spring and fall of 2023, successfully resulted in the planting of 20,000 trees in fire-damaged areas. The April 2024 campaign, which will last the entire month of April, will again target 10,000 new trees to be planted later in the year.
“We’re very excited to again partner with BMW to help plant trees in support of healthy and beautiful woodland ecosystems,” said Scenic America Communications Director Max Duchaine. “The partnership has grown since last year, and we’re thrilled to turn this into a month-long campaign to not only celebrate Earth Day, but promote tree-planting and electric vehicles as well.”
In addition to their commitment to support Scenic America’s reforestation program, BMW will be making a generous donation of 25,000 trees on behalf of its North American dealers and in recognition of its Americas Brand and Business Summit (ABBS) 2024 event in Las Vegas.
“In recognition of ABBS 2024, we’re building on our partnership with Scenic America and will plant an additional 25,000 trees,” read an official statement from BMW Group. “Building on our shared values and cooperation […], we jointly take responsibility to contribute to the sustainable development of our company and the planet.”
“As an organization dedicated to preserving our nation’s scenic beauty, we know that there are many different components that go into a beautiful America,” said Duchaine. “Planting trees is one of the best ways to ensure a beautiful America, not only because trees are beautiful, but because they have such a tremendous impact on our environment through climate resiliency, ecological benefits, and the strengthening of our roadsides and infrastructure.”
