Greenspace Restoration. We target abandoned and underused potential greenspace and, with regional partners, work to restore it for community use

Greenspace restoration is the cornerstone of a scenic community, and that many communities, especially neighborhoods with a history of disinvestment, lack sufficient greenspace.

Scenic Pittsburgh focuses on restoring a particular kind of lot: land that is not easily developed for housing or business, is often wooded and on steep-slope property, is either too small for traditional development or too large to be a simple neighborhood project, and represents a possible greenspace asset for the surrounding community.

We currently have two greenspaces that we have opened with community partners: the Fountain Street Overlook, and Denham Trail. We are at work on another site in the Hill District.
